The bullseye is the centre of a target (worth 10 points in archery or 50 points in darts), and by extension the name given to any shot that hits the bullseye.
From analogy with this definition the word bullseye has gained other usages:
"Hitting the bullseye" is a colloquialism for success.
Any design or pattern featuring prominent concentriccircles, reminiscent of an archery target, may be referred to as a "bullseye."
