- the 6th century bishop of Paris, canonized as Saint Germain of Paris, who founded an abbey in the fields near Paris, now the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés which gave its name to the neighborhood and to the Boulevard Saint-Germain on the Left Bank, or
- the bishop of Auxerre, canonized as Saint Germain of Auxerre, died A.D. 478, who founded the Carolingian abbey of Saint-Germain en Auxerre named for the same saint, or
- the ancient and picturesque commune of Saint-Germain-Laval in the Forez, or
- the royal French Chateau of Saint-Germain-en-Laye in the Île-de-France west of Paris, and the city that has grown up around it, or
- the Edict of Saint-Germain, 1562, recognizing the Huguenots during the French Wars of Religion in the 16th century, signed in the chateau, or
- the Peace of Saint-Germain, 1570, a truce in the same wars, or
- the Treaty of Saint-Germain, also signed in the chateau, but at the end of World War I in 1919, or
- the Paris-based professional soccer team Paris Saint-Germain, or
- the Braque Saint-Germain, in the List of dog breeds
- the 18th-century poet, the self-styled "Comte de Saint-Germain", who claimed to be centuries old
- the stage name Saint Germain of Ludovic Navarre, a French Jazz musician
