- Horrie the wog dog, found in Egypt by Australian Forces in 1942 during Second World War. Saved the lives of may Australian soldiers. Refused admission back to Autralian after service in Europe, he was saved by his mates smuggling him to his new home in Australia.

- Nipper, the HMV (His Master's Voice) dog
- Old Shep – after seeing the coffin of his master loaded onto a train in Fort Benton, Montana, Old Shep maintained a vigil at the station for over five years.
