<description><![CDATA[To the Editor: The exorbitant fees charged by airlines for “extra” baggage (“Checking Baggage. Not at These Prices, ” June 15), pale in comparison with JetBlue’s recent doubling of fees to carry a pet in the flight cabin. My seat on a September trip to Tampa costs $94; to take my 12-pound miniature schnauzer in a carry-on bag, crammed under the seat in front of me, I must forgo the legroom, forgo carrying another carry-on bag, and pay $100. I could, of course, pay an extra $20 to recoup part of the lost legroom by purchasing a seat in the “extra legroom” bulkhead seats or I could find another airline for future trips. I am choosing the latter.
